Mark Revenaugh, Owner
Email: mark@equinepi.com
Dr.
Revenaugh is an Illinois native who has worked with and ridden
horses all of his life. After graduating from the University of
Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, Dr. Revenaugh
completed an 18 month Internship at Arizona Equine Medical and
Surgical Center. From there he worked for one year near Chicago
before being recruited to work with Dr. Brendan Furlong in Oldwick,
NJ in 1994.
In 1997, Dr. Revenaugh authored the first license
for veterinary use of radiopharmaceuticals (“bone scan”)
in the state of New Jersey. Since that time, Dr. Revenaugh has
conducted thousands of bone scans on horses with challenging lameness
and performance problems. Since relocating to Portland, OR, Dr.

in imaging and lameness of the horse.
Since 1997, Dr. Revenaugh has worked as a Veterinarian
for the United States Equestrian Team and has been Official Team

Susan Emerson, DVM,
Associate Veterinarian
Email: Sue@equinepi.com
Dr.
Emerson arrived in the Northwest in May of 2006 to join Northwest
Equine Performance as an intern, and subsequently staying on as
an associate. She is a native of Ontario, Canada and has worked
with and ridden horses for over 20 years. She has always had a
special interest in lameness diagnosis. Dr. Emerson graduated from
the Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada in 2005. Followed
by one year of private practice at the top Thoroughbred Racetrack
in Canada where she had been involved in the veterinary medicine
side of thoroughbred racing for the previous 7 years.
Sue has a particular interest in musculo-skeletal
diagnostic imaging including radiography, ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy,
and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). She also has a very strong
drive to continue to incorporate new and emerging therapies and
hone her skills as a performance horse practitioner.
Sue enjoys giving back to the industry through
mentorship of students interested in veterinary medicine, educational
talks to horse owners and veterinary groups, as well as acting
as the Team Veterinarian for the USEA Young Rider Team for Area
VII. In her spare time, Sue enjoys hiking, photographing the beautiful
Oregon, and playing tennis.
Heather Fraser, DVM,
Intern Veterinarian
Email: Heather@equinepi.com
Dr.
Fraser recently joined the practice to complete a one year internship
where she hopes to enhance her knowledge of lameness diagnostics
and therapeutics. Heather was born and raised in Woodinville,
WA where she grew up riding and showing horses in nearly every
discipline. From a young age Heather was always finding a way
to work with animals and had jobs ranging from exotic animal
caretaker to horse trainer. Heather attended Washington State
University for her undergraduate studies in Animal Sciences before
moving to Colorado to continue her education where she received
a second degree in Equine Sciences. While living in Colorado
for 9 years Heather worked as a veterinary technician, skied
every chance she got, and completed her veterinary degree at
Colorado State University. Heather has a special interest in
lameness and rehabilitation and hopes to continue her education
and receive certification in acupuncture. In her spare time, Heather
enjoys hiking, skiing, gardening, and anything that involves being
on or near the water.
VETERINARY STAFF
Rebeccah Lee, CVT, Veterinary Technician
Email: rebeccah@equinepi.com
At the age of 6 Rebeccah was forced to take
horseback riding lessons to help get over a bad equine encounter
with a friendly looking but vicious pony. It took several
years of being "stuck" out at the barn with her
horse crazy siblings before any interest in horses truly developed.
Since then, being around horses quickly turned into a full
blown passion. She now enjoys actively riding her two Arabians "Robbie" and "Kastane".
In addition to her own horses she also enjoys starting young horses
and working with behavior problems in horses.
Amy
Rathburn, Veterinary Assistant
Email: amy@equinepi.com
Ever since Amy can remember she has had a passion
for horses. Now that she’s older, she has taken it to the
next level and enjoys competing in local hunter/jumper schooling
shows. When she’s not in the show ring she very much enjoys
helping others cultivate a love and respect for horses through
riding lessons. She loves seeing a young horse crazy kid evolve
from a shy, timid rider into a confident, skilled, young rider.
Although she does love her time teaching people about horses, her
heart goes to teaching young horses about people. Molding a young
horse’s mind is the highlight of her free time. Although
there are many bucks, bolts, and rears, she feels the end result
is completely worth it.
Jon
Armstead, Veterinary Assistant
Ramiro has been with NWEP for almost two years,
becoming an integral part of our practice both as a veterinary
assistant and general maintenance and grounds keeper. He is an
avid competitor in calf roping and enjoys training horses for himself
and others.
Jon
Armstead
Jon has been with NWEP since 2002. John is active
in all facets of the practice and has been involved in the horse
industry most of his life. Jon has also operated his own horse
transport company for over 10 years. Between these two businesses
Jon is kept quite busy. However he can still be found riding his
motorcycle, or his mountain bike in his spare time.
OFFICE STAFF
Vicki English, Receptionist
Email:
vicki@equinepi.com
Vicki came to the practice in February 2004 following
her retirement from Bonneville Power Administration. She has 3
adult children, 3 dogs, 2 horses, a grand piano, and a partridge
in a pear tree. Her hobbies include giving gratuitous (and unheeded)
advice to her kids, doing trail riding and Horse Beauty Shop with
her horses, and interfering with her dogs’ campaign to destroy
her house.
She also is a pianist and organist for her church,
volunteers at the classical music station, plays music with her
friends, and reads a lot. She is perpetually engaged in a losing
campaign to maintain order in her yard.
